Firebird Update

Okay. So for a while now you have all been hearing about this Firebird. I now know what it's issues are (at least I think I know all the issues), and I now know how most of them are to be fixed. Here it goes, it may not flow right.

Okay...

The Throttle Position Sensor is misset. This causes the engine to not know exactly where the throttle is resulting in a slight loss of performance. This is easy to fix as soon as I know what Greg plugged it up with.

The Choke was misset. The choke was misset not allowing the butterfly to fully close, not allowing the engine to seal itself off alowing the engine to start up easy. I have tweaked this now to where it is properly set, and it is all fine now.

The Air Filter was extremely dirty. I bought and installed a new one already.

The Transmission needs to be rebuilt. This is a trickier problem, as it will take alot more work. I am going to pull the transmission either on a three day weekend, or next week when I am home. I don't know which yet, it all really depends on how much Jenni is working cause I don't want to screw myself over there. But it needs to be done cause it is shifting rough. No biggie, just time.

The Exhaust needs to be replaced. This isn't going to be fun, but it won't be too difficult either. I am going to take the car up to Johnny's Garage this Sunday and put the car up on a lift. Once it is on the lift it shouldn't be difficult at all to replace the exhaust, and I already have the parts. Just a little time.

The Rims need to be replaced with the Ralley's that came on the car. This will also be done next Sunday at the Garage as it has the tools to pull the tires off of the rims, so that I can switch the Rims. No big deal there. One of the rims is rusted though so I may see if I can clean that up and get the rust off of it before I put it on the car.

The Rear Fender Metal piece is Bent. That is no big deal, I have the part. Needs to also be done on Sunday.

The Trunk needed to be sealed. I sealed the trunk using a Gutter and Flashing sealer (I'm hoping this doesn't rust out those parts...), It is Silicone based, but it is supposedly alright for metal. That just leaves cleaning out the rust in the trunk, and putting something in for the trunk to look nice. I am actually thinking about spraying in a spray in bed liner for a truck, and doing that for the trunk, then putting in black carpet whenever I have the time/money.

The Doors need to be resealed. I need to order the parts for this, and get them installed. Little more than an hour's worth of work I would imagine. Not too much of a pain in the ass unless I drop a window. This is just to keep the doors from getting water in them, they are alright for now, but I would like to get those replaced so I don't get wet.

The Car need's to have some surface rust removed from the body, and needs to be painted. After that it should be fine, then I can start working on upgradeing the engine, and learning more about that stuff.

Hopefully I will be able to get a decent job at school that will pay alright, while not taking away from my school fun/learning and I can get some money built up for this and other important things. Or just paying for next semester would be nice too...

We'll see I guess. For now I am going to go, I just wanted to let you all know (the like one of you that actually reads this crap) what is going on with the Firebird. Cause I'm sure you were all begining to wonder if I had forgotten about it or not.

Cheers

Oh, and I hate my Job.
